The Challenge

We are hiring 2 Senior Utility Coordinators / Engineer I's to join our Utilities team.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and oversee utility coordination efforts for transportation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Use your solid project management skills to oversee multiple utility-related tasks, resolve conflicts, and ensure that utility adjustments align with project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance, analyze engineering challenges, and ensure compliance with environmental and permitting requirements related to utility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate utility relocation efforts for transportation projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Review and interpret engineering plans, contracts, and agreements related to utility infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between utility companies, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate utility adjustments.
  • Negotiate and administer utility agreements, ensuring alignment with project schedules and budgets.
  • Analyze and resolve engineering and project coordination challenges related to utility infrastructure.
  • Communicate complex technical information effectively to stakeholders, including government officials, engineers, and utility providers.
  • Monitor and track project progress, ensuring timely utility adjustments and installations.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures related to utility coordination and infrastructure planning.

 

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering, specifically in utility coordination, roadway infrastructure, and construction project management.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing utility relocation, coordination, and permitting processes.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, negotiation practices, and agreements related to utility coordination.
  • Knowledge of environmental policies and permitting requirements affecting utility relocation and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working independently and managing multiple utility projects simultaneously, while making informed engineering decisions with minimal supervision.

Note

  • We may require registration as a professional engineer with the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering; or
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
