Instructonal Design Student Assistant, CPaGE

The College of Professional & Global Education (CPaGE) provides international, domestic students, and professional groups access to academic education, professional development, and enriching opportunities at SF State.

We are looking for a responsible, motivated, detail-oriented student to be a part of our team to support online curriculum development work. 

Hours

This position will ideally work 10 hours a week. The schedule will be mutually agreed upon with the supervisor. 

Pay

$19 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proofread and edit curriculum materials for courses
  • Proofread and edit content within Canvas course shells
  • Review and edit curriculum materials to meet accessibility standards
  • Data entry, including calculating course workload estimations
  • Add collaborate/contribute to documenting business guides/SOPs
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Excellent English language skills including knowledge of grammar and style 
  • Organized, reliable, and show attention to detail 
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Maturity, good judgment, and a willingness to take initiative 
  • Knowledge of Canvas and/or other Learning Management Systems 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, Excel, video communication applications (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams), and general computer skills 
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with staff and faculty 
  • Be able to perform and handle repetitive tasks 
  • Be able to sit in front of a computer for the duration of the work shift 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate student
  • Majoring in or earned a degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Comparative Literature, Communications, Education, Instructional Design, or Instructional Technology
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Prior experience utilizing Generative AI to enhance efficiency/creative solutions
  • Prior tutoring and/or teaching experience
  • Prior editing experience
  • Prior experience doing administrative work in an office setting
  • Experience working with faculty
