Campus Ambassador
aiCampus Ambassador (CA) Position Description:
The Campus Ambassador position is a student leadership opportunity within the Office of Admissions and New Student Services. Students serving as campus ambassadors provide crucial support for the university’s recruitment, admissions, and orientation program. Campus Ambassadors must be available to work at minimum approximately 8 hours per week (plus admissions events) during the academic year, providing campus tours, hosting events, and assuming front desk administrative responsibilities.
Reports to: Caitlin Dobson Coordinator, New Student Services.
Campus Ambassadors will also take direction from all Admissions Office professional staff.
Responsibilities:
Admissions Events, Visits, and Tours
Participate in admissions recruitment events such as Ranger Saturday, Experience Parkside Day, and Arts & Humanities Visit Day
Support admissions-related events offered by other University offices and departments, such as International Student Services and the College of Arts & Humanities
Conduct campus-wide tours for daily visits and group visits in a professional manner
Greet, assist, and create connections with incoming students and visitors throughout the application and enrollment process
Provide information to prospective students, current students, and visitors related to admissions process, deadlines, orientation, registration, campus events, etc.
Assist students during the admissions and enrollment process and provide appropriate referrals
In the Office
Provide a great customer service experience to current and prospective students, families, and staff by answering phones, responding to emails, and communicating face-to-face
Use PeopleSoft, Slate and ImageNow to enter student data, launch communications, and update records and maintain confidentiality of all information
Prepare materials for events and visits
Assist students with scheduling meetings with counselors
Prepare and send out mailings
Attend all meetings, trainings, and events as designated
Mandatory Time Commitments:
Work 8+ hours per week at desk
Work 2 Ranger Saturdays per semester
Work at least 3 visit events per month
Attend all required training (typically 5 days the last week of summer and 3 days in spring)
Attend monthly staff meetings
