Aurora Analytics LLC is a Life Sciences company based in the Baltimore-Washington Corridor. Aurora creates products for education, food safety, healthcare, threat detection and research, as well as provides synthetic and analytical chemical services to enable commercial R&D and production projects.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chemical Technician Intern will work in the areas of organic/analytical/natural products chemistry and maintaining laboratory operations. The intern shall conduct analytical, synthetic and natural products chemistry processes for R&D and product manufacture. Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of small organic compounds and dyes
- Plant extraction and extract purification
- Process scale-up for production
- Performing laboratory tests, sample preparation, sample purification and completing documentation of results
- Support ongoing laboratory efforts as tasked
- Laboratory maintenance
- Conducting work accurately and in a timely fashion
- Documenting, organizing and summarizing data
All work and documentation are to be completed in accordance with laboratory quality guidelines.
Education/Skills/Experience:
Upper-level undergraduate student majoring in physical or life sciences. Laboratory experience is preferred. You must have good verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail is important. Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Sense of humor is always desired.

Aurora’s laboratory facilities are located in the Baltimore/Washington Corridor, minutes from BWI airport, in a technology incubator complex that provides facility support and a friendly, active environment.
