The Foul Territory Network (FT) is seeking remote copywriter interns for Summer 2025.
Are you a huge baseball fan who would like to work with professional athletes and learn from an experienced media team that will help you secure a job upon graduation?
The Foul Territory Network, a part of Make Plays Media, has built a premier baseball media vertical centered around authentic player voices. Former MLB players AJ Pierzynski, Todd Frazier, Cameron Maybin, Erik Kratz, Jason Kipnis, Trevor May and Jonathan Papelbon host a live, on-camera, 2-hour baseball show, Monday through Friday, via 16 FanDuel Sports Networks, Marquee Network, YouTube, Twitter/X and TikTok with the audio version available on Apple, Spotify and other podcast platforms.

Position Overview:
FT is offering an unpaid internship to a talented and creative Copywriter with a passion for baseball to join our team. As a Copywriter, you will play a crucial role in shaping the identity and voice of our podcast content by crafting compelling show titles and descriptions for distribution on platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other podcast distributors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your writing skills, contribute to the growth of our podcast audience, and help establish the Foul Territory Network as a leading voice in the baseball community.
Like most of our company, this position is fully remote. While the internship is unpaid, we are happy to meet school requirements for academic credit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the production team to develop engaging and descriptive titles for each episode, capturing the essence of the content and enticing listeners to tune in.
- Write concise and compelling episode descriptions that provide a captivating overview of the topics discussed, highlight key insights, and encourage listeners to subscribe and share.
- Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and branding across all podcast titles and descriptions, aligning with FT's overall content strategy.
- Conduct research on relevant keywords, trends, and audience preferences to optimize podcast titles and descriptions for discoverability and engagement.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in podcast marketing and distribution to continuously improve the effectiveness of our copywriting efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing leads and hosts to develop promotional materials and strategies to increase podcast visibility and attract new listeners.
Qualifications:
- A minimum 10 hours of availability per week
- Strong writing skills with a knack for crafting compelling and concise copy.
- Passion for baseball and a solid understanding of the sport's culture, history, and current trends.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
- Familiarity with podcasting platforms and their respective guidelines for metadata optimization (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and adapting to evolving priorities.
- Experience in copywriting, content marketing, or podcast production is preferred but not required.
