About the Role

As a Venture Capital Analyst at Sound Advisory, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, evaluating, and supporting investments in early-stage and growth-stage startups. You will work closely with investors, founders, and senior advisors to assess opportunities, conduct due diligence, and develop insights that drive investment decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on venture capital experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while working with innovative, high-growth companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal Sourcing & Market Research: Identify promising startups, emerging industry trends, and market opportunities across various sectors.
  • Financial & Investment Analysis: Conduct financial modeling, unit economics analysis, and valuation assessments to support investment decisions.
  • Due Diligence: Perform in-depth due diligence on potential investments, including analyzing business models, competitive landscapes, and founder backgrounds.
  • Portfolio Support: Assist portfolio companies with financial planning, fundraising strategies, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Investment Materials: Develop investment memos, pitch decks, and reports to communicate key findings to internal teams and external investors.
  • Founder & Investor Engagement: Participate in meetings with entrepreneurs, venture partners, and industry experts to assess potential deals.
  • Data & Trend Analysis: Leverage financial databases, industry reports, and proprietary data to generate insights that inform investment strategy.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 0-3 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or a startup-focused role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in financial modeling, business analysis, and due diligence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present investment theses clearly.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for working with startups and emerging technologies.
  • High attention to detail and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple investment opportunities simultaneously.
  • Interest in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, and financial data platforms (e.g., PitchBook, CB Insights, CapIQ).
