Part-Time Legal Assistant

Type: Part time (with probationary part-time training period) & minimum one year commitment    

Start:  ASAP, June 2024 

Location: Century City, CA

Hours: 15 hours (8-10 hours during training)

Compensation: $22 or higher depending on experience

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Private law office that focuses on real estate and other corporate law and investments.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A team player with a “whatever it takes” attitude
  • General office experience
  • Must be responsible, reliable, organized and detail oriented
  • Able to handle directions well
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with wireless computer and networking
  • Minimum 1 year commitment
  • Junior standing preferred (class of 2025)
  • Preferably considering a gap year
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA
  • Owning a car a plus (job is on-site; parking is provided)
  • Sense of humor a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Opening, sorting and logging incoming mail
  • Preparing outgoing mail
  • Faxing, scanning and copying of documents
  • Maintaining office filing and storage systems
  • Drafting documents, reports and correspondences
  • Basic accounting for expenses using Quickbooks software (after training)
  • Updating and maintaining contact lists and client information
  • Helping to manage Attorney's personal affairs
  • Carrying out internet research
  • Opportunities to manage client accounts and other investment projects
