The Internship Program
Dole Food Company Internships are offered to college students who want to pursue career options within the farming, food processing and distribution industry. Internships give students hands-on experience in their field of interest and prepares them to compete in the labor market.
Internships are available in a variety of functions, including finance and accounting, engineering, human resources, information technology, marketing, communications, production, sales and more. Interns work full-time for 3 months. Successful completion of internships can also lead to the offer of a full-time job after graduation.
Selection of interns is based on academic performance, a major that is in the field of the internship, experience, good communication skills, and the ability to complete projects on time. All employment decisions are made without regard to sex, race, age, disability, religion, national origin, color or any other protected class.
Intern - Ag Operations Position
Responsibilities
GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Ag Operations intern will help to keep updated several key pineapple crop databases by collecting factual land prep, planting, irrigation, crop log, pest survey and harvest data. This project will help to create traceability throughout the pineapple production cycle and will serve as support for the SPP (Pineapple Production System) ongoing implementation process.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION
•Work with Ag Operations team to understand the pineapple crop.
•Track daily land prep, planting, irrigation, crop log, pest survey and harvest schedules.
•Collect data from log forms within the pineapple operation.
•Keep updated the databases related to the data collected.
•Create weekly reports based on the data collected to analyze performance of the operational activities and the crop performance.
•Create and deliver a final presentation to the General Manager and Management team of Dole Food Company Hawaii.
•Other duties as assigned

•Summer 2025, 12-week internship
•100% onsite (not a remote internship)
•Pay Rate: to be determined
•NO relocation or housing assistance provided
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
•Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
•Knowledge of Statistical Analysis
•Valid Hawaii driver’s license
•Excellent Time Management skills
•Familiarity with agricultural operations
•Data Collection experience preferred
•Bi-lingual, Spanish/English is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regular required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and hear on the phone.
•Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb on and off harvesting equipment, lift to 25 pounds.
•Ability to work in various weather conditions
•Ability to walk on uneven ground
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
•Full time, 40-hour workweek, no overtime expected.
•Travel to and from the Wahiawa Dole Ag Operations office to various field locations in the Dole Farm in a Dole vehicle or a personal vehicle.
Required Experience
EDUCATION LEVEL AND FIELDS OF STUDY
•Fall 2024 rising Junior or Senior undergraduate student majoring in Agriculture, Soil or Crop Science, Biological Science or a related degree
OR
•Fall 2024 Graduate student studying Entomology or Plant Pathology or related field of study
