Youth Programs Summer Intern

This position is designated for students who are currently pursuing a degree in Education, Human Development and Family Sciences or a related field. The student will gain practical knowledge and hands on experience in our summer program working with a diverse group of learners also gaining knowledge with our online software sites we use. The student will be responsible to create daily lesson plans, communicate needs with direct Supervisor, communicate with our members and guests on a daily basis via in person, on the phone or through our app. The student will also help direct part time staff, set up and tear down before and after scheduled activities, help redirect and neutralize child behaviors that may occur and more all while staying organized, focused, kind and professional. This position typically works 40 hours per week starting early June and ending middle-end of August. Training and set up will occur up to two months prior depending on applicants schedule and availability. Hours are approximately 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday with a 1-hour lunch break.

Required Experience:

Minimum Age Requirement:
Individual must be at least 18 years of age

Education Requirement:
Individual should be pursuing or have completed a degree in Education, Human Development and Family Sciences or a related field.

Other:
The student has the ability to work as a team or alone with a group of children.
The student has the ability to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates.
The student enjoys being in the company of children, is organized, stays on task and is detail oriented.
First Aid, CPR, AED training must be completed before or within 3 months of hire.
