Under supervision of the Training Manager (Staff Services Manager I), this position functions as a Training Specialist and is responsible for assisting with organizing, developing, coordinating, and conducting training programs and for supporting the management of CALPIA’s training program. Typical training programs include but are not limited to: mandatory in-service training, leadership development, comprehensive supervisory training, professional technical training, and comprehensive new employee orientation programs.

The physical reporting location for this position sits on top of a hill with a view of Folsom Lake, and is close to historic Folsom, eateries, shopping, walking trails, and offers free parking! This position is not located inside of a prison

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Ability to compose clear, concise, grammatically sound documents.
- Experience developing training content in the past 5 years
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience utilizing different databases, such as the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Experience preparing reports, memorandums, guidelines, and/or other written correspondence to internal/external stakeholders
- Experience scheduling and/or coordinating events/project management
