ARTS EDUCATION COORDINATOR (FORMERLY ART INSTRUCTOR)
Assists the Art Center Director and/or supervising Director in designing, implementing, and coordinating arts programs that are responsive to, and representative of, community input and staff expertise at arts centers, theaters, galleries, and historic sites managed by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Provides administrative/operations support to the supervising Director. May be required to teach classes in the visual, performing, and/or media/communications arts, or classes in other arts disciplines, to children, youth, and adults.
REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in the arts, performing arts, art history, art education, or a related field; and
- Two years of full-time paid experience (or total of 4,160 compensated hours) designing, implementing, or coordinating an arts program.
Additional experience of the type specified in Requirement #2 may be substituted on a year-for-year basis (2,080 compensated hours per year) for the required education lacking.
