Human Resources Intern

General Description:

Performs highly complex administrative support work and assists HR staff with general office duties. General office duties include but are not limited to, research, data entry, compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, assist in managing the flow of paperwork, and maintaining files. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position works 100% of the time in the office.

Essential Job Functions:

•Assists HR staff with the hiring process, revises TABC’s recruitment plan, participates in recruitment activities, and prepares recruitment material.
•Performs support work for division program areas.
•Provides project assistance as needed. 
•Evaluates and provides feedback on division’s functionality to improve efficiency, streamline programs, or cut costs. 
•Conducts research as requested for various projects. 
•Creates, designs or edits support materials, such as charts, graphs, or other visuals and prepares correspondence, reports, studies, forms and
documents. 
•Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.  

MQs, KSA, License/Certifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major in Human Resources or related field. 
Must pass a background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 
•Knowledge of office procedures; of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and arithmetic; of business or program terminology, methods, and procedures;
and of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures.
•Skill in the use of a computer, computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat) and office equipment (e.g., printer and scanner).
•Skill in critical thinking and problem solving with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
•Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports; to transfer stock from one location to another; 
 to make arithmetic computations; and to communicate effectively.

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE: 
Must be able to present a copy of college transcript.
 

Physical Requirements/Supplemental Information:

This position functions in a standard office environment. Must be able to move about the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information via telephone, computer and in person. Must be able to perform repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Must be able to work with overlapping deadlines. Required to work as a team member, and work with sensitive and confidential information.
