Innkeeper Hospitality Internship

The Chanticleer Guest House is a Door County Bed and Breakfast like no other. Door County history is on display at our bed and breakfast, from the skillfully restored farmhouse and barn to unique period antiques and thoughtful interior design.  Attention to detail abounds. We offer 8 bed and breakfast suites for rent. Each suite offers a private bathroom, whirlpool tub, fireplace, sitting area and deck.  Featuring 30 private acers including hiking trails, beautiful gardens, meadows, pond, barrel sauna and outdoor heated pool (seasonal) Nestled among the orchards of Door County, this is truly one of the most unique bed and breakfast in Wisconsin. 

Internship Overview:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the various aspects of hospitality operations, from guest interaction to operational efficiency. Interns will work alongside experienced staff, gaining practical skills and knowledge that will prepare them for future careers in the hospitality industry. 

Responsibilities:

• Guest Services:
• Assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
• Answer guest inquiries and address concerns.
• Provide excellent customer service and create a positive guest experience.
• Operational Support:
• Help with various tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with tasks in different departments (e.g., front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage).
• Potential Marketing/Revenue Management:
• Assist with marketing initiatives and social media content.
• Support revenue management strategies.
• Teamwork:
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve common goals.
• Learn to communicate effectively with staff and guests.

Skills and Qualities:

• Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact with guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues.
• Teamwork Skills: Ability to work effectively with others.
• Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with common software applications.
• Marketing Skills: Knowledge of Social Media Marketing tools and strategies.
