Compliance Coordinator
Position Summary
This position will perform various administrative functions supporting TWF DC Compliance (primarily in HACCP, OSHA, and DOT) efforts. This role will ensure proper documentation, meet regulatory requirements, and operate per Maryland state and local laws for HACCP, OSHA, and DOT. The Compliance Coordinator must follow established standard operating procedures and meet quantity, quality, and timeliness standards for assigned work.
This position helps coordinate compliance-related activities in the company, such as implementing and training coworkers to adhere to compliance guidelines. It also acts as a liaison with local health department officials and departments within the company. The coordinator is also responsible for managing administrative operations and company compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited):
COMPLIANCE
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly food safety and quality audits to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Prepares procedures for sanitation, pest control, allergens, extraneous matters, and HACCP.
- Track and schedule facility inspections, such as annual fire extinguisher testing and health inspections.
- Ensure that True World Foods maintains certified compliance from all our suppliers.
- Create and maintain tracking systems for essential deadlines and renewals.
- Ensure the company has the current required postings and on-site documentation.
- Verify and maintain organized records, including update registrations for all compliance-related documentation.
- Identify food safety risks, quality, or sanitation issues, and immediately correct any issues in collaboration with the management team.
- Documents findings and prepares reports on quality metrics for management review.
- Work with the Quality Operations Manager to reassess the current HACCP program and food Safety Plan and implement changes as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Serves as primary contact for the local health department, third-party audit, FDA, inspectors, and vendors for compliance related services in TWF DC
- Conduct formal and informal training activities for the company and the onboarding process for new hires to help educate and train employees responsible for carrying out different HACCP, OSHA, and DOT activities and responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
HACCP
- Assist in updating HACCP plan when product, supplier, or critical control point changes.
- Tests, measures, or observes selected critical control points and sanitation procedures daily, weekly, or monthly and provides required documentation. Also, check if the plan is being followed through and if the documents have the required signatures.
- Issue HACCP letters to our customers/vendors.
OSHA
- Confirms safety training and certifications.
- Update and improve safety plans.
DOT
- Interview with employees who had a car accident.
- Primary contact with insurance claim.
- Maintains drivers’ qualification and record.
