Marketing and Communications Intern

Marketing + Communications Intern

 

Purpose/Overview:  

The Marketing & Communications Intern will play a key role in supporting the Marketing team during the busy summer season. This position will assist with photoshoots, events, content creation, and general marketing tasks. By contributing to key projects, the intern will help improve workflow efficiency and alleviate workload pressures, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing and communications.

Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager

 

Learning Opportunities in This Role:

 

  • Photoshoot Coordination: Assist with pre- and post-production logistics, including gathering materials, organizing resources, and providing hands-on support during photoshoots.
  • Event Coordination: Help manage event logistics, coordinate promotional materials, assist with setup for in-person events, and collaborate with the communications team on brainstorming ideas.
  • Content Creation and Support: Contribute to blog writing and social media content, learn from the content team, and assist with copywriting as needed.
  • Email Marketing Support: Assist in developing and launching B2B sales emails in the company's new CRM tool.
  • Media & Public Relations Assistance: Compile media lists, track press mentions, support press release preparation, and assist with media outreach.
  • Internal Communications Support: Assist with improving the consistency and timeliness of internal content updates.
  • Competitive & Industry Research: Conduct research to support proposal reviews (RFPs) and provide insights on industry trends and competitors.
  • Creative Asset Management: Organize, tag, and manage digital assets such as photos and videos.
  • General Marketing & Administrative Tasks: Attend meetings, take notes, assist with small projects, and gain exposure to various marketing functions.

Preferred Majors / Fields of study:

  • Marketing, Communications, Strategic Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Agricultural Communications, and related.

 Skills/Qualifications required:

  • Enthusiastic and adaptable with a willingness to jump in, learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills — both written and verbal.
  • Interest or experience in content creation, such as writing, social media, photography, or video production.
  • Proactive and collaborative with the ability to take initiative and work effectively with multiple team members across projects.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content management tools.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools like CapCut, Klaviyo, or similar platforms (preferred but not required). Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
