Marketing Internship

As Civic Champ’s Marketing Intern, you will work with our founding team and report directly to our Marketing and Program Analyst, Arianna Martinez. You will also have the experience to work with CEO, Geng Wang, a Harvard Business School alumnus, former McKinsey & Company Engagement Manager and serial entrepreneur. Geng’s prior startup companies included RentJungle.com (an apartment search engine) and Community Elf (a social media management firm). Both companies had successful exits in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
Marketing Internship Opportunity for the 2023-2024 School Year:
As Civic Champ’s Content Creation Marketing Intern, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in managing and updating social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
- Monitoring and analyzing marketing campaign performance metrics to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborating with other Civic Champs Interns and team members in cross-functional projects like content creation, website maintenance and creation, and video production.
- Ensuring consistency in brand voice, tone, and messaging across all communication channels.
- Conducting research on target audiences, competitors, and industry trends to inform and enhance copywriting efforts.
- Compiling and maintaining email contact lists in Hubspot.
- Proofreading and editing copy to ensure accuracy, grammar, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Contributing to the planning and coordination of promotional events, both online and offline.
Preferred skills:
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, demonstrating proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively organize and manage time, ensuring timely completion of tasks and juggling multiple projects concurrently.
- Adept at collaborating within a team environment, valuing constructive feedback and fostering a cooperative work atmosphere.
- Strong attention to detail, enabling accurate proofreading and effective content editing.
- Basic knowledge of SEO principles, keyword optimization practices, and various social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Proficient in utilizing Canva to create professional graphics and marketing materials, with the ability to quickly adapt and learn other design tools as needed.
