RARE DISEASE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCATES (RDLA) INTERN
The EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases is a science-based nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization dedicated to bringing treatments to over 30 million Americans with rare diseases. The Foundation works with patient advocates, lawmakers, industry, academic scientists, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH) to advance the equitable development of and access to lifesaving diagnoses, treatments, and cures.
As a member of the RDLA team, you will work to coordinate events, activities, and RDLA initiatives. This work will involve working closely with staff at the Foundation as well as rare disease patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Support planning for and working during advocacy events including Rare Across America and RDLA Youth and Teen Advocacy Day;
• Assist in updating legislative scorecards for all fifty states;
• Assist in organizing materials for Capitol Hill caucus briefings;
• Assist in delivering/sending materials for Rare Advocacy Learning program participants;
• Assist in preparing advocacy materials for advocates and Members of Congress;
• Assist in providing support for monthly RDLA webinars and newsletters;
• Provide administrative support to the policy and advocacy team via Salesforce; and
• Other duties as assigned.
This paid internship will be 10 hours per week (2 five-hour days) from May through August 2025. The location for this position is flexible and can be either based in Washington, D.C., or remote.
