Mathnasium is the industry leader in providing supplemental math education to children in K through 12th grades. We are looking for passionate instructors that have a strong mathematics background and math teaching experience. Our expert approach is personal and prescriptive, with each individual child’s needs in mind. Our talented instructors experience daily the impact they make. Mathnasium provides for success by finding the right starting point (through diagnostic testing) and building confidence and self–esteem through successful encounter and interaction with carefully selected materials. As a tutor, you will receive training on the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods. The main function of a tutor is to provide exceptional instruction to all students with enthusiasm for the curriculum, constructive feedback, and active encouragement and motivation to students.

Requirements:

● High school or college students pursuing a degree in the field of Math, Applied Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Education or related fields

● Exceptional Math knowledge from counting to Algebra II. Prior tutoring experience is a plus (but not required)

● Mathematics competency based on Mathnasium skills assessment and willingness to learn the Mathnasium Teaching Method through on the job training

● Exceptional communication, social and multi-tasking skills

● Energetic and confident personality with the ability to adapt to students’ needs

● Must be available for at least 2 out of the 5 days we are open. Our hours are:

Mon-Thu from 3-7pm and Sat from 10am-1pm

Responsibilities:

● Provide exceptional instruction to all students using Mathnasium’s top notch curriculum

● Evaluate and document student progress providing encouragement and / or constructive criticism where appropriate

● Assist in any administrative tasks as needed (i.e. restocking, binder preparation, cleaning etc.)

● Positively contribute towards the reputation of this brand new center by creating a professional, energetic, fun and productive learning environment

● Ability to interact with students in a team teaching, semi private (up to 4:1 ratio) environment

Availability: Starting immediately. Candidate must be available for employment for a minimum of 3 months
