Chemical Engineering Intern

Overview:

Ready for an internship position where you can apply your skills acquired in coursework into a real-world business setting? BISSELL is proactively looking for Chemical Engineering Intern to join the Chemical Packaging Manufacturing team. This Manufacturing based role will serve as a vital team member within the broader Supply Chain organization. This individual will participate in a variety of projects and will also be involved in a summer long capstone project related to their function.

Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to process improvements for the large scale Liquid batch environment, including cleaning, product flush and batch time of mix tanks. Improve Liquid raw material processing and transferring product to a filling operation.
  • Oversee capital projects to support liquid processing improvements.
  • Data collection of various product parameters to drive decision making and quality specifications.
  • Complete a scrap analysis and reduction in mix time, with emphasis on the transfer and hold process of a finished 3,000 gallon batch of product.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude for learning about Consumables product development and liquid fill operations.
  • Collaborate with BISSELL team members from other internal cross-functional departments such as Marketing, Quality, Consumables Development, and more.
  • Participate in company-wide Internship activities as requested.

Qualifications: 

  • Applicants MUST be currently enrolled at an accredited, four-year university majoring in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and graduating December 2025 or Spring 2026.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule throughout the duration of the summer internship program
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
