Wine Harvest Intern
Raptor Ridge Winery is located on the hills above Newberg, Oregon. While we make a handful of white, rosé and sparkling wines, our focus is making small-lot Pinot Noir from our organically farmed estate vineyard, as well as from carefully selected sites around the Willamette Valley.
We are searching for two passionate, hard-working individuals to help us create our 2025 vintage wines. We are a close-knit group and a family-owned operation, and candidates will become an essential part of our small winemaking team. Applicants must be detail-oriented and share our dedication to crafting singular, terroir-driven wines.
Qualities we look for in harvest interns:
- An interest and passion for wine.
- Hard-working, thorough and meticulous.
- A positive attitude towards the work and one’s fellow coworkers.
- Ability to listen closely and follow directions.
- Ability to work long hours, stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs.
- Above all, curiosity and kindness.
Harvest duties will include:
- Processing and sorting fruit, including the operation of crush pad equipment.
- Vineyard sampling and Laboratory work.
- Lifting and moving barrels.
- Safe operation of a forklift.
- Fermentation management – pump-overs, punch-downs.
- Moving hoses and operating wine pumps
- Lots and lots of cleaning things and moving things.
Benefits we happily provide:
- Competitive wages for OR wine work.
- Overtime, as well as a season-end bonus.
- Harvest meals and healthy snacks, while fruit is coming in and wine work is busy.
- Assistance with finding a temporary rental home, should one be needed.
- A positive, supportive, mentoring work environment.
Our harvest work will run from mid-August until early November. Candidates should be available to work long hours and weekends as needed, and have a willingness to be hot, cold, wet and dirty, all while making beautiful wines. If joining our team interests you, please reach out with a resumé and cover letter introducing yourself.
