IT/System Support Intern

KZValve, LLC – Greenwood, NE

 

KZValve, a business unit of the IDEX Corporation, is an engineering design and valve actuation company focused on Agriculture, Fire, De-icing, Turf, and Industrial industries. We specialize in low voltage actuated valves (that are waterproof and extremely durable) ranging in size from 1/4 inch to 6 inches. Our facility and staff design, engineer, assemble, and sell our finished goods. KZ Valve’s sales channel is primarily direct to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and through a network of Authorized Stocking Distributors.

The IT/System Support Internship will allow you to gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects, network with IT/System support across the organization, and learn what it is like to be an IT/ system support at KZValve while making a lasting impact and developing lifelong skills to elevate your future career. 

This position focuses on providing administrative and technical support for the sites knowledge workers, performing general IT technical support tasks as assigned, and assisting the IT/System team with workload distribution and applicable project work. 

 

Key Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Assist the IT team providing end user support for hardware problems with a variety of devices including computers, printers, and other devices.
  • Assist the IT team providing end user support for software problems including operating systems, application software and productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office 365.
  • Aid users in person or via phone, email, and Teams
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining IT systems
  • Support the IT team creating and updating systems documentation for users
  • Assist the IT team in other projects as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge/experience with Desktop and Laptop repair
  • Demonstrated experience with Active Directory
  • Ability to rack and configure network/server hardware.
  • Scrum and Project Planning participation

 

Preferred:

  • Post-secondary education and/or training in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.   
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Solid communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting ability and skills.

 

Position Details:

  • Full-Time (40 hours per work week), non-exempt position (May-August)
  • Preferred core hours to be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. OR 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Workweek is Monday through Friday
  • Position is not eligible for remote work
  • Position reports to the IT/System Manager
