Audiologist
As an Audiologist in the U.S. Navy, you will provide critical audiology services, supporting personnel in clinical, occupational, or educational settings. Your duties will include conducting auditory exams, diagnosing and assessing hearing loss, providing aural rehabilitation, and promoting hearing protection. You will ensure the auditory combat readiness of Navy and Marine Corps personnel and manage Hearing Conservation Programs, including fitting and demonstrating ear protection.
Work Environment: Serve globally at Navy, Marine Corps, and medical facilities or on humanitarian missions, including aboard hospital ships. Locations include Hawaii, Japan, Germany, and U.S. medical centers in Bethesda, MD, Portsmouth, VA, and San Diego, CA.
Training & Advancement: Complete Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI, followed by specialized Audiology training. Regular promotion opportunities based on performance.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship
- Master’s or Doctor of Audiology degree
- State licensure and board certification (ABA or ASHA)
- Willingness to serve 3 years of Active Duty
- Physical fitness and medical exam clearance
- Age 18-41, with exceptions for prior service
Preferred: Interest in clinical, occupational, or educational audiology and ability to work with diverse populations.
