Food Safety & Quality Intern
Tasks
- Collect samples and perform microbiological and analytical testing utilizing methods such as pH, moisture, and Petrifilm
- Prepare microbiological media solutions
- Assist in overseeing cleanliness and organization of the laboratory
- Assist in overseeing inventory of lab supplies
- Assist with monitoring finished product and material retain samples throughout product shelf life
- Assist with performing facility inspections
- Assist with organizing and filing FSQA and production documentation
- Support QA Department continuous improvement initiatives
- Responsible for proper documentation of all activities performed
- Make recommendations on improving food safety and quality programs
- Comfortable working proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Follows all company safety rules in performing job duties
- The job holder might be assigned to other tasks and duties if necessary
Qualifications:
- Current rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Food Science, or related field
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Knowledge of FDA food regulations, GMPs, Allergens, and Microbiology preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented
