Associate Veterinarian (One Year)

Our Nestlé Development Center (NDC) in St. Joseph, MO is home to confident, well socialized dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well-being of pets and promote the human animal bond. You'll work alongside a team passionate about pet care that ensures our pets have the best quality of care while participating in cutting edge pet food research. Our center is located near the metropolitan area of Kansas City, within 30 minutes of the Kansas City International airport.  St. Joseph is a tight-knit, rural community packed with character, still within commuting distance to the city thus, providing many residential opportunities.

As an Associate Veterinarian, you will help work alongside our team of exceptional doctors and veterinary staff to provide veterinary care to our exclusively canine and feline population. With a focus on continuous learning and professional growth, you'll have the chance to develop and enhance your technical skills during this one-year employment.  
  

  • Assist with necessary veterinary procedures to ensure the health and well-being of care of our pets including routine check-ups, surgeries, dental care, and emergency treatments 
  • Perform physical examinations, request, and perform diagnostic tests, determine rule outs and diagnoses, and prescribe treatment 
  • Maintain all health records as required by the record retention policy and the Animal Welfare Act 
  • Conduct all activity in compliance with generally accepted veterinary practice, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and all required Company policies and procedures 
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary work environment 
  • Participate in project work with our Nutritional, Trials, and Animal care teams 

 
Requirements 

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree OR will have obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree by May of 2025 

 
Other 

  • Experience in a research environment or clinical practice is preferred 
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds 

 

The approximate pay for this position is $100,000.00. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
