
Marketing & Communication Intern
The 2025 World Police & Fire Games are in Birmingham, Alabama from June 27, 2025 to July 6, 2025. The event features more than 8,500 athletes from 70+ countries, 60+ sports and 1,600+ medal events at 45 different venues.
About Us: The World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) are an Olympic-style competition with thousands of athletes representing First Responders from different countries across the world. This includes law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration, and customs. The Games are held biennially and typically have 60+ sports in the Official Games program.
Positions: The 2025 World Police & Fire Games seeks students (with junior or senior standing, or graduate students), or recent graduates willing to intern for the WPFG. WPFG is seeking several interns for the Summer 2025 Semester (June - July 2025). ALL Summer 2025 Intern positions are expected to attend digital training sessions in June 2025 between June 1 and June 25, and are expected to be in-person in Birmingham, AL from June 26 through July 7, 2025. Additionally, interns will have some post-event work to complete remotely.

Marketing & Communication Intern (LOCAL TO BIRMINGHAM):
- Candidate Basics - The candidate is someone who understands the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and cooperation. This person has mastered cultural awareness, organization, personal responsibility, professionalism, and time management. The candidate should have experience with active problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. A member of this team is a strong communicator, has a positive attitude, and is a team player.
- Requirements - The ideal candidate is local to Birmingham, Alabama and has experience with writing press materials and in communicating with the media. The candidate has experience in market research, building media lists, and experience in Google Analytics.
- Responsibilities - Daily activities include creation of press materials and development of media lists. The intern is responsible for managing the media clippings, and coordinating analytics reports.
- Credit and Hours - Candidates wishing to earn college credit for the Summer 2025 Internship may provide the paperwork required for credit. Interns will earn approximately 150 hours during the duration of the event, training prior, and post-event reports.
