Official Position Description:

Works under close supervision within the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Traffic Operations, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) network team. Utilizes a computer & assists with the installation, configuration, management, & troubleshooting of Cisco networking devices in the wide area network (WAN)\local area network (LAN) & other computer hardware, which may involve travel throughout the State. Assists with daily monitoring of network devices & trouble ticket resolution of network-related incidents. Utilizes a computer & assists with the installation, management, & troubleshooting of edge networking equipment (e.g., routers, switches, wireless bridges, gateways).

Performs other duties as assigned, which relate to technologies & devices used in the Department

This is a temporary position involving various duties that will either supplement the student's major field of study &/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student's education & meaningful preparation for future professional employment. Student should be enrolled in college degree program directly related to the IT field

This Position is Unclassified per Section 124.11(A)(29)

 

The rate of pay is based upon the student's academic status

  • Freshman and Sophomore students - $19.50 per hour
  • Junior and Senior Students - $20.00 per hour
  • Graduate Students - $24.00 per hour

Must be enrolled in college, university, or graduate school, and in good academic standing.
