Part time speech-language pathologist

We are a growing clinic and looking for a contract, part time Speech-Language Pathologist. Our skilled therapists work with children as young as eighteen months all the way through adulthood and closely work with families to develop customized treatment plans. We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Speak to Connect, LLC in New York, NY!

Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for a hard-working, collaborative, warm, and friendly SLP who’s open to feedback and growth as part of our team.
  • Responsibilities in addition to evaluation and treatment include scheduling, session notes, uploading session notes on sesis, report-writing, staying on top of deadlines, answering emails and messages in a timely manner, and staying on top of licensure as well as continuing education.
  • Participating in staff and team meetings.
  • Remains flexible and provides coverage as needed for patient care during times of illness or vacation for other team members.
  • Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals
  • Auditing notes to make sure the information entered is accurate and meeting deadlines.
  • Receive and respond to difficult clients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Track completed, missed, and canceled appointments.
  • Experience with and/or openness to work with both pediatrics and adults.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. One or more years of clinical experience required.
  • Must hold a valid Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or equivalent from NYS Education Department (Division of Teacher Certification).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from New York State licensure.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws.
  • The ideal candidate must be highly organized and detail oriented, able to multi-task and manage multiple time-sensitive demands, have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and support our practice mission.
  • Experience with pediatric and adult populations is a plus.
  • Experience with voice treatment and social-emotional communication work is a plus.
  • Bilingual Extension and Feeding experience is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal / communication, organizational, and analytical skills, the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and as strong desire to work with a range of learning disabilities/disorders.
