QIDP Intern/Assistant
Position: QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional) Intern/Assistant
Job Description: Do you love helping people set and achieve their goals? Would you enjoy providing support and encouragement to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live life to the fullest? We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, organized person to join our team as a QIDP/Case Manager Intern. Learning opportunities include assisting in the development, implementation, and adjustment of services for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a day-services or residential setting, while under the supervision of a QIDP. Our goal is to partner with you in providing services to our clients that align with their personal goals and follow their established treatment/training plan. Planning and coordination of services will be completed in accordance with all Federal, State and local standards as well as facility policies and procedures.
Requirements: Candidate must be in pursual of one of two following categories: 1) Bachelor’s degree in social work, recreation, special education, or related human service 2) License/certification in a medical profession (i.e., OT, OTA, PT, PTA, RN, dietician, psychologist, speech-language pathologist, audiologist, etc.) Also, Junior and Senior students must maintain a GPA in accordance with McKendree’s requirements.
Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred but not required!
Hours
We are flexible--scheduling will be established according to both your availability and the availability your QIDP supervisor. In order to maintain standing in McKendree’s internship program, one must take a minimum of three credit hours or a maximum of 8 credit hours. For each credit hour taken, one must work 45 hours per semester.
Pay $15-18/hour
