Middle School Special Education Classroom Teacher

POSITION: GMS Special Education Classroom Teacher with an $8,000 hiring bonus.

INFORMATION: Located in Grayling, Michigan -- the county seat of Crawford County in the middle of  Northern Michigan -- CASD operates three schools that serve over 1,600 students in K-12.  CASD and our individual schools have received numerous awards over the last several years.  We are seeking an energetic, professional candidate to join our school family. 
              
DESCRIPTION: Looking for a full-time special education teacher at the secondary level.   Join our team for an exciting opportunity to work with students and be involved in an amazing school and community.  $8,000 signing bonus to the new hire.  

QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicant must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with certification to teach Special Education and must meet Highly Qualified requirements. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with a team.  Must demonstrate knowledge in remedial strategies and techniques, current educational research, the IEPC process, instruments for evaluation at all levels, classroom student observation techniques and reporting; and must be willing to communicate with staff, parents, administrators, and students regarding student progress, behavior and academic success.  Must be able to write Special Education goals and objectives, assist with and/or administer special education assessments such as MI-Access, and participate with the creation of behavioral intervention plans. Middle school teaching experience is a plus.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job responsibility.

SALARY: According to the terms of the Master Agreement.
