Development Associate

Job Title: Development Associate  

Reports to: Maris Dishno, Director of Donor & Alumni Engagement 

Pay Rate: $11/hour 

Hours: approximately 10 hours/week, between 8:00-4:30 Mon-Fri 

Start Date: Late Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 

 

UW-Parkside’s Office of University Advancement seeks a highly motivated student employee to assist in telling UW-Parkside’s story to university supporters. Through this position, you will gain professional experience working in a nonprofit setting, sharpen your communication and research skills, and contribute in important ways to University Advancement’s goals for fundraising and strengthening alumni and donor relationships. University Advancement is responsible for alumni and donor relations and helping raise private funds from individuals, corporations and foundations to support student success and educational initiatives at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Development Associate will report to the Director of Donor & Alumni Engagement.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Engage other students in thanking donors and sharing their Parkside experience through key Advancement projects: Chancellor’s Society, Ranger Sustainers, and Parkside Day.
  • Draft content and communication materials for University Advancement messages on the university’s digital channels (email marketing, social media posts).
  • Assist in designing layout of email communications and some print publications.
  • Maintain and update alumni and donor data in the Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Act as a student representative at University Advancement events (during scheduled work hours).
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate students with an interest in non-profit management, fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations, and/or data management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Must be able to communicate professionally with a variety of audiences, while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must be proactive, self-directed, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adjust to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must possess capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based applications and/or databases.
