About Emerge
Emerge is dedicated to bridging the gap between education and industry through innovative workforce development solutions. We help students explore careers, develop skills, and connect with employers through technology, virtual reality, and strategic partnerships. Our internship program provides hands-on experience in multiple facets of our work, allowing interns to gain valuable insights into workforce development, emerging technology, and employer engagement.
Position: Emerge Intern
Location: In-Person/Hybrid Duration: Summer 2025 Compensation: Paid internship
What You’ll Do
As an Emerge Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to real projects that impact students, schools, and employers across Michigan and beyond. Your responsibilities will include:
1. EmergeXR Support
· Assist with EmergeXR visits, including setup and facilitation of virtual reality experiences for schools and community partners.
· Support data collection and feedback from participants to enhance VR experience.
2. Virtual Intern Experience – Content Creation & Event Management
· Help plan and coordinate content for the Virtual Intern Experience, including brainstorming topics, scripting, and assisting in video production.
· Organize and support in-person events, ensuring smooth execution and engagement from interns and partner organizations.
3. Employer Outreach & Support for Employer Collaboratives
· Research and reach out to employers to support employer collaboratives, fostering partnerships that create career opportunities for students.
· Help develop resources and presentations to engage employers in talent pipeline initiatives.
4. EmergeNET Data Entry & Management
· Assist with data input and management within EmergeNET, ensuring student, employer, and educational institution profiles are updated and organized.
· Track engagement metrics and provide insights to improve the platform’s effectiveness.
Who You Are
We’re looking for motivated, forward-thinking interns who are passionate about workforce development, education, and technology. Ideal candidates should:
· Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Have experience and comfort in speaking in front of large groups.
· Be comfortable with technology and open to learning new platforms.
· Be detail-oriented, especially when handling data entry and employer outreach.
· Be self-starting, problem solvers.
· Have an interest in career exploration, employer engagement, and talent development.
Minimum Requirements
· Valid Driver’s License
· The ability to work in-person in our office
· Ability to life 50 pounds
· Availability to occasionally work non-traditional business hours including nights and weekends
· Ability to pass a background check
