JOB SUMMARY
An Elementary Teacher performs effective teaching methods to ensure scholar success while promoting educational programs that foster achievement for all. Teachers provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject areas assigned to help them fulfill their potential for academic, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Successful Elementary Teachers are comfortable teaching classes to grades Kinder through 5th. They also understand childhood development and are able to communicate effectively with elementary aged children and their families. Elementary Teachers are responsible for supervising scholars and guiding their development so they have the foundation to succeed through the rest of their school career, and beyond. Teacher duties include developing lesson plans for scholars with different abilities, teaching social skills through guided activities and assessing student projects. Elementary Teachers support curriculum practices that align with ODB’s culture of connections, management and response, while also meeting state and national academic standards. Teachers promote an atmosphere of safety which ensures mutual respect between scholars, families and staff members. ODB Elementary Teachers also uphold the responsibility of recording and reporting each scholar’s progress to their family and the school’s administration along with being able to manage personal and common planning, data meetings, and professional development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- General qualifications of a teacher as prescribed by the Colorado State Department of Education
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License or proof of enrollment to a Alternative Teaching Licensure Program in the State of Colorado
- Completion of CDE READ Act training
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to provide conferred transcripts
- One year residency, student teaching, or classroom experience preferred
- Provision of personal and professional references
- Background check clearance
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Modeling high standards of professionalism.

- Be receptive and engaged with coaching, evaluations, teacher planning, staff meetings and professional development.
- Maintain a well-kept classroom and learning environment where scholars can learn and grow through predictable routines, structures, proactive and restorative social emotional practices.
- Oversee and manage scholar data, including attendance, incident reports, and documentation of academic progress reports.
- Use curriculum, teaching standards and data to adapt lessons and instructional practices including re-teaching, spiraling skills and differentiation to help students meet the school's performance standards while promoting a culture of learning.
- Implement a variety of network assessments in accordance to grade level needs.
- Collect, track, and analyze scholar data to serve for educational intervention services (READ Plans, MTSS and MLL services).
- Integrate and expand on the use of technology to support instruction.
- Additional duties as assigned, such as assisting with arrival and dismissal duties, supporting student recruitment, running a small group advisory class, lunch duty, and other school community tasks.

COMPENSATION
Teachers will be placed on the initial compensation scale for this position based on years of experience and education level achieved as demonstrated via service records and transcripts. It is the responsibility of the employee to provide the school with the appropriate, original documents to validate their years of experience and education level prior to accepting a job offer.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The environment is mainly a classroom, playground area, school lunchroom, and hallway. At times, the employee must lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. The equipment used is typical to that of a standard office setting; computer usage, fixed-line phone, and other general office equipment usage such as printers and their supply. This job consists of work with frequent interruptions; maintaining emotional control under stress, and the need to multitask. Occasional travel and flexible hours. In the event of a need, the employee must be able to provide a space to complete the job remotely, while the employer provides necessary equipment.
INTERVIEW EXPECTATIONS
The interview process can include, but is not limited to a phone interview, an in-person and/or virtual interview, and/or a work sample/demonstration. This process will also require proof of education transcripts and reference contact information. First day of new hire training will be at the end of July.
