Policy Intern
Future Caucus is a nonprofit organization seeking qualified interns to take on significant responsibility, work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, and contribute to organizational development and strategy. Interns will work at a high level with Future Caucus’ staff out of our Washington, DC office. Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis, we are currently hiring for the spring semester (May - August 2025). This is a hybrid internship.
Internship Candidate Requirements:
- Current undergraduate student at an accredited institution
- Passion for Gen Z & Millennials in politics and/or future-focused ideas
- Hardworking, entrepreneurial spirit
- Acute attention to detail
- Strong research and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility
Future Caucus internships provide a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical national cause with prospects of future employment. Interns will also have the opportunity to interface with leaders in the media, in state houses, and on our board of directors. Interns receive monthly stipends.

Policy Intern
The Policy Intern will focus on tracking Future Caucus members’ policies at the state and federal level. This individual stays continuously informed about current events in US politics and will support Future Caucus in generating fact-based talking points and one-pagers for young lawmakers on a variety of critical policy issues. Experience synthesizing large amounts of information into condensed analysis for quick comprehension is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities may include:
- Drafting policy research documents to fulfill lawmaker requests across Future Caucus’ six policy pillars: Criminal Justice Reform, Energy & Environment, the Future of Work, Healthcare, Housing, and Strengthening Democracy
- Attending and taking notes at meetings with young lawmakers representing various political viewpoints and parts of the country
- Supporting the Policy Innovation Lab’s work across the 2025-26 Innovation Fellowships and the 2026 Innovation Agenda for innovative, future-focused bipartisan policymaking
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and desktop research skills
- Familiarity with and interest in current US politics and policy, at the state level in addition to the federal
- Superb attention to detail and nuance in navigating policy specifics and partisan differences with tact
- Strong commitment to bridging the partisan divide in US politics
- Enthusiasm for catalyzing the next generation of American political leadership
