Social Worker

Job Overview 
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals and families in need, helping them navigate complex systems and access necessary resources. You will work in a collaborative environment, focusing on improving the well-being of clients through effective interventions and advocacy.

Purpose of Position

This position to is provide a variety of child welfare services, including child protection services, out-of-home care services, juvenile intake, and juvenile court services.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

Conduct highly complex/sensitive investigations.

Develop a strong comprehension for Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 48 and 938 

Develop a strong comprehension for the Department of Children and Families “Standards for Initial Assessments and On-Going Services.”

Provide child protection and juvenile delinquency intake services (including rotating evenings and weekends on-call schedule) 

Collaborate with law enforcement and District Attorney’s Office as necessary/ requested.

Ability to assess and compile salient information including appropriate recommendations for court and dispositional services; ability to attend and/or testify in court. 

Maintain complete, timely, and accurate case notes.

Work collaboratively with other departments, external providers, and the public; act professional and ethical in duties assigned to you.

Attend training and be informed regarding evidenced based and best practices.

Assess and coordinate treatment services or other community services. 

Coordinate and manage placements of children and juveniles in out-of-home settings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work preferred, plus two years of experience as a Social Worker.  Must be willing to acquire or have already acquired the professional knowledge of and the ability to perform required duties in the Children’s Code (Chapter 48 Wisconsin Statutes), Juvenile Justice Code (Chapter 938 Wisconsin Statutes) and Basic Juvenile Intake Training.

Must meet Wisconsin Social Worker Licensing Requirements and maintain good standing with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, proof of insurance  and a good driving record.

Wage: 

Starting wage of $25.35 to $26.79 per hour based on experience.
