Constituent Services Summer Internship

Senator Mark R. Warner’s Richmond office seeks undergraduates or recent graduates for a constituent services internship. Senator Warner serves Virginia in a variety of ways, including by developing public policy, providing direct assistance to individuals and local communities, and listening to the different needs of the diverse communities across the Commonwealth. He is proud to be able to offer students an opportunity to learn more about these responsibilities through an internship.

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their first year of college and who reside in Virginia or attend college in-state. To be eligible for an internship, an individual must have graduated from high school. In order to be considered, all applicants must meet the requirements below, and submit an application by the deadline. 

If applying for an internship in one of the Senator’s Virginia offices:

  • Summer interns that meet the minimum time commitment and are authorized to work in the U.S., pursuant to federal law, will receive a $800 pre-tax stipend for 24 hours or more per week commitments throughout the 10-week session.
  • Duties might include: answering constituent phone calls and providing callers with assistance; processing constituent requests for assistance; helping staff develop regional outreach calendars; attending community outreach events; preparing congressional inquiries; supporting the congratulatory letter operation; front office duties; basic office administration; and performing a host of other tasks, large and small, that help the Senator achieve his Constitutional obligations.
