IT Manager
The IT Manager reports directly to the President of the Company and is responsible for analyzing current systems and assets, recommending and implementing solutions and upgrades, and providing user training. This role involves maintaining network hardware, software, and backups, requiring extensive knowledge of network maintenance, managerial experience, and advanced industry expertise to ensure smooth and secure operations. The IT Manager is pivotal in enhancing day-to-day efficiency and contributes to long-term growth through strong problem-solving and project-management skills.

This position is classified as exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Responsibilities
LEADERSHIP
- Understand, are committed to, and communicate the Company Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

- Propose quality improvement initiatives to improve production processes and procedures to Senior Leadership.
COMMUNICATIONS
- Offer input, ideas, and concerns that will improve the quality of our work to Team Leaders.
- Advise supervisor of vacation plans or other planned absences as soon as known.
- Follow specified project communication procedures.
- Ask questions when they arise.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Specifying, ordering, deploying, and maintaining network-essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Maintain, update, and troubleshoot network printers and plotters.
- Maintain and update software in use, as well as research and recommend new products or hardware for purchase.
- Maintain remote access for users and troubleshoot to solve any related issues.
- Respond to support requests or usage questions from users or clients.
- Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups.
- Maintain network infrastructure, phone, firewall internet, and related systems.
- Train employees on company computer policies, procedures, and software and hardware use.
- Work with vendors and clients to resolve IT-related issues.
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
- Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget.
- Be available for assistance during non-regular working hours as needed.
- Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative.
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
- Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions.
- Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and solutions.
- Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement.
- Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best possible service and value for business needs.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Represent HCE positively and professionally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications A+ Network+, etc.
- Five to ten years of experience working in IT operations.
- Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases, data storage systems, and phone systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
- Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
- Deep knowledge of operating systems (i.e., Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Azure, Entra, Windows server and desktop OS, Virtual Machines), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring.
- Strong creative and analytical thinking.
