Elementary School Office Clerk

Requirements / Qualifications

The Vacancy: There is one full time, 8 hours a day, 10 month position at an Elementary School. This recruitment will also be used to fill future vacancies, and temporary/substitute positions in this classification for up to six months. The Position: Under general supervision, to perform a wide variety of general clerical, receptionist, typing, recordkeeping and student service functions at a District elementary school; and to do related work as required.

Required Qualifications: One year of general clerical and recordkeeping experience, preferably involving substantial public contact; knowledge of modern office methods and equipment, including the preparation of business correspondence; filing and standard office equipment operations; correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; arithmetic; basic methods, policies, and procedures of the assigned work area; type at the rate of 45 net words per minute. Selection Procedure: The selection process will consist of a written exam and a qualifications appraisal interview each weighted 50%.
