Part-Time Art Instructor

SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS

PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR (ART)

 

Solon Center for the Arts is accepting applications for Part-Time Art Instructors for upcoming art classes. Approximately 2-14 hours per week with additional hours for special events/programs. Hours may increase during the summer.

 

  • Regularly Scheduled Art Classes
    • Weekday morning/afternoon/evening and Saturday morning/mid-day
  • Workshops & Pop-Ups
    • Upon availability
  • Additional hours for special events/programs and summer camps

 

Accepting applications for specific instructors in 

  • Pottery - Preschool, Ages 6 - 12, Teen and Adult classes

 

Qualified applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art Education from an accredited institution or have related work or performance experience equivalent to such a degree. Graduate experience is a plus. Interested applicants must have a minimum two (2) years of experience working as an Art Instructor/Teacher. Applicants knowledgeable in any or multiple mediums. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Create lessons, plan, prepare and instruct classes
  • May implement weekly art camps during summer

 

Candidates for this position will work closely with the Art Department Coordinator and must be able to work with students of all ages and skill levels, with a specific focus on preschool and school-aged children. Applicants must be professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom and may be the lead instructor during rehearsals. In addition, the applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be able to work in a team environment. 

 

This position offers a starting rate from $28.00/hour. Compensation will be determined based upon previous education, performance, and teaching experience. This position will not exceed 28 hours per week.
