CAD Operator

Job Summary

Med-Tech Construction is a design-build construction company that specializes in commercial tenant finish outs in the Dental, Medical, Optical, and Veterinary industry. We are looking for a detail orientated individual to join our growing company as a full-time draftsman. We are looking for someone who can create detailed scale plan, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering specifications, and millwork drawings.  

Summary of Position:

Responsible for producing the full set of plans for construction and submittal for code review, including architectural, engineering, and millwork. The individual must be willing to use judgement, discretion, problem solving skills, and work with others, including employees, clients, city officials, and engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage of permitting process
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Produce shop drawings in AutoCAD in accordance with take-off, sketch’s, and pictures provided
  • Calculate and determine the correct requirements base on needs for MEP design
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting the design changes
  • Provide hard copies and electronic copies for internal and external use
  • Assist with estimating team as needed
  • Site visits and field measurements as needed
  • Provide support to the field/office on questions or issues related to drawings 

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills; listening, comprehensive, and feedback
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, MEPs and elevations
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD with design, architectural, and MEP’s
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in AutoCAD
  • Some College preferred but not required
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • Familiar with local building codes and permitting process
  • High attention to detail
