NHQ: COMM Spanish Terminologist Intern
Job Description:
- Research and provide guidance on terminology usage for drafting, translation, and editing terms.
- Monitor documents for changes, inconsistencies, and variations in terminology across different areas.
- Use terminology management tools and Microsoft 365 Apps.
- Stay updated on organizational and technological developments, suggesting improvements.
- Create clear and accurate terminology using strong language skills.
- Work on terminology tasks like creating definitions and developing new terms.
- Develop and manage terminology databases, following industry standards.
- Compile and maintain collections of terms, such as glossaries and term lists.
- Collaborate with experts to choose the right terms.

Majors and/or Areas of Study Sought:
Spanish studies with a focus on Linguistics, Localization, Philology, or Translation and Interpretation Studies.
Computer Skill Requirements:
Proficiency in terminology management systems, CAT tools (Crowdin), machine translation, and Microsoft 365 Apps (Excel).
Other Important Skills/Courses:
Familiarity with term extraction tools, concordance, and corpus analysis tools.
Time Commitment:
3-5 hours per week, during standard business hours (M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST).
