The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Business Development Intern to join our growing Corporate Development team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The intern will work closely with our business development team members to collaborate on strategic initiatives and to become a contributing member of the team. This person will be responsible for driving market analysis, due diligence within new therapeutic areas, and developing practices that impact portfolio strategy. This is a remote position with the flexibility to be onsite occasionally.
JOB TITLE
Business Development, Corporate Strategy Internship
10 weeks-- June 9th through August 15th (dates are non-negotiable) 40 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain knowledge of external market landscape, competitors and Agios portfolio points of differentiation in relevant disease markets
- Evaluate and explore new therapeutic areas of interest that may align with Agios’ portfolio strategy
- Perform research on potential partners and assist in evaluating licensing and collaboration opportunities
- Provide strategic input and execution support for ongoing Business Development activities; including providing inputs for ROI valuation and sales forecasts
- Update and improve upon internal tracking databases
- Evaluate and propose improvement to practices that impact the diligence process
- Contribute to diverse initiatives to improve Agios Corporate Development operations, planning, and execution, as needed
DESIRED MAJORS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS
Must be currently enrolled in an academic program; Major: pre-med or life sciences (biology, chemistry, neuroscience etc)
Familiarity from reading about it, with the drug development process from discovery to clinic
Demonstrated leadership capabilities through prior experience in employment, internship,
and/or extracurricular activities.
Demonstrate an interest in and enthusiasm about the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Self-driven and able to perform in an entrepreneurial environment while challenging the status quo
- Proven track record of operating with high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence without
- direct authority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
YOUR INTERVIEW PROCESS
The first step will be a phone screen with the hiring manager, then video interviews with HR, HM, and one other team member.
PAY RATE
Pay is based on experience, with a minimum of $20/hr
