Research Project Manager II
As a Research Project Manager II, you will:
- Champion and drive research and economic development at UNL by providing robust and comprehensive grants facilitation services on large, complex, and translational projects.
- Coordinate and oversee programs and projects, in support of research driven initiatives.
- Provide a process driven approach, operating procedures and supporting systems to lead successful projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead on communications between research team members and between project leaders, participants, and communication outlets
- Work with faculty and staff to support project teams, by providing specialized guidance in project management strategy, approach, implementation, quality control, and support for the research projects during proposal development and post-award management.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, financial or mathematical/scientific field/discipline relevant to the area of specialization and 4 years of experience in project management, pre- or post-award research administration and intermediate knowledge/track record in project management, equivalent education/ experience considered.
- Expert knowledge of various government agency and corporate sponsored program requirements and practices.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under general direction from research project team(s).
- Ability to communicate effectively with research teams and communicate science effectively to general audiences
- Ability to build trust and effective working relationships with clients – both internal and external.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Skill using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to quickly learn other software
- Ability to travel to a minimum of one domestic event and one international event per year.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
- Master’s degree in business administration, financial or mathematical/scientific field/discipline relevant to the area of specialization.
- Project management experience and/or research administration experience working in higher education in a high-volume, high-production, and/or sponsored research-intensive environment.
- Experience working in a business, financial, project, or grant management role in a university department, unit, center, or college.
- Experience preparing and delivering training programs and shared resources and tools helpful.
- Designation of CAPM, PMP, CRPA, CPFA, or CRA is desired. Equivalent certifications in research administration or project management considered. (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in RA, PM would meet this preference.)
Posted Salary $65,000/year minimum
