Interdisciplinary District's Project Manager

Interdisciplinary, District's Project Manager (PM) (GS-XXXX-13), USACE, South Atlantic Division, Charleston 

 

Location: Charleston, Columbia, Aiken (Savannah River site), Greenville, or Conway, SC. 

 

Open/Close: 25 February- 11 March 09 

 

Duties: The incumbent serves as the District's Project Manager (PM) and Project Management Team Leader, as well as the technical lead for assigned programs and projects. He/she is responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction for execution of assigned major Military Construction/Military Reimburseable/IIS programs and projects. Applies leadership skills and extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods and practices, as well as knowledge of methods, practices, and processes of engineering and science disciplines. The position requires a broad technical background and experience in various functions, a full and in-depth understanding of the Corps of Engineers procedures and authorization and appropriation processes, and a strong management background. The incumbent is required to integrate sponsor/customer requirements and participation into a comprehensive management plan that is fully coordinated with all contributing agencies and organizations, including various functional elements within the District; establish responsibilities and set expectations; control and manage assigned project budgets and schedules, assuring that District commitments to the sponsor/customer are met; and serve as the District's primary point of contact (POC) for the sponsor/customers and other external agencies for all assigned projects. As primary POC, performs A-E coordination; customer relations activities; construction field office coordination, and coordination with other agencies, higher HQs, etc.
