MAC YMCA Student Intern
MAC YMCA Student Intern duties are connected to a variety of the center’s day to day operations, including guest services, special projects, and program monitoring. Guest services responsibilities will include providing basic customer service; program monitoring will include overseeing the program facilities and interacting with YMCA Members; and additional projects will include program preparation, assisting with various YMCA special projects, and serving as a floater within the center. This is a temporary, non-exempt position according to FLSA guidelines.
This position is for federal work-study eligible students only.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Welcoming and orienting members and guests to the YMCA, running register and front desk, and providing basic customer service.
- Monitoring the program facilities for organization, cleanliness, and safety; resetting equipment
- Assisting with programs and activities, including research, development, preparation, and implementation
- Assisting in development and posting of social media and announcements
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures, including daily cleaning.

- Weekday, weekend, and occasional evening work required.
- Interest in interdisciplinary programs and informal education.
- Ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to work successfully as a team player and fulfill scheduled shifts
- Ability to communicate quickly and efficiently with other staff members through
multiple mediums including but not limited to email, Microsoft programs (Powerpoint, Excel), Canva, Social Media Platforms (Facebook), and face to face meetings

Location:
This student worker position is located off campus at Middlecreek Area Community YMCA
Education
First year, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
Preferred Majors: Business, Athletics, Program Management

Additional Requirements:
- This position is paid $10 per hour with estimated 10 hours per week.
- Must be able to provide clearances for PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting Check (for those who have lived outside of the state of PA within the last 10 years).
- This position is for federal work-study eligible students only.
Physical Demand
- Position requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Position requires occasional manual dexterity and the ability to use fingers, hands, and arms to feel, handle, and reach.
- Position requires occasional stooping, crouching, and bending.
- Position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Working conditions are indoor.
