Job Summary:
Owensboro Community and Technical College seeks a full-time, 10-month Economics Instructor to join the Business, Health, and Public Services Department. This position is essential in supporting the Business Administration program by delivering high-quality economics and business administration instruction. Primary teaching responsibilities include ECO 201 Microeconomics, ECO 202 Macroeconomics, and foundational business courses such as BAS 160 Introduction to Business.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in economics and business in online and in-person formats.
- Teach 15 credit hours per semester (30 credit hours annually across fall and spring). Assignments may include courses across multiple campuses, online, or a combination based on student needs.
- Utilize diverse teaching methodologies to support students with varying educational backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles to achieve course competencies.
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and support students in achieving academic success.
- Complete Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) reports promptly.
- Maintain accessibility for students by holding regular office hours and communicate availability through appropriate channels.
- Represent the Business Administration program within the community by engaging with professional organizations and stakeholders.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with instructional best practices and industry trends.
- Contribute to the college’s mission through involvement in college and community service activities, including student recruitment and retention efforts.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited university with 18 graduate hours of coursework in economics is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of successful teaching experience.
- Experience with instructional technologies, including presentation software and learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard-Ultra)
- Two or more years of leadership experience demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
