Full-Time: Financial Analyst – Real Estate: Immediate Start Date
Company Description: MidCap Financial Services, LLC (“MidCap”) is a specialty finance company with principal offices in Washington, D.C. (Bethesda, MD), New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles that provides debt solutions to middle-market companies across all domestic industries. MidCap is managed by NY-based Apollo Global Management with over $700 billion of assets under management. MidCap provides a broad array of products intended to finance growth or manage working capital with over $50 billion of commitments as of December 31, 2024. MidCap provides a broad array of corporate and real estate debt and (occasional) equity products to finance both acquisitions and the growth and working capital needs of middle-market companies. The vast majority of companies financed by MidCap are owned by private equity or venture capital firms or other sophisticated institutional investors, with meaningful exposure to public companies.
Description: MidCap’s Real Estate Group provides first mortgage financing for the acquisition, repositioning, renovation, and refinancing of real estate. MidCap’s investments will primarily be held on its balance sheet.
- Commercial Real Estate: MidCap’s Commercial Real Estate effort lends on asset types including office, hotel, retail, industrial, multifamily, self-storage, manufactured home communities, student housing, and other income property types with a primary focus on income producing properties.
- Healthcare Real Estate: MidCap’s Healthcare Real Estate effort lends on asset types including senior housing (assisted living, memory care, independent living, continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), medical office, life sciences and other income producing product types involving a senior care or health care component.
Opportunity: MidCap’s Real Estate Group is looking for an Analyst to be based in the Bethesda, MD headquarters (or possibly the Chicago, IL office). The Analyst will work with other members of the Real Estate team to complete due diligence and underwrite new investment opportunities including new loans and purchasing performing and distressed loans. The Analyst will prepare investment memos, build financial models, and perform in-depth financial analysis on a regular basis. Skills required:
- Strong quantitative and analytical background. Knowledge of and experience with basic real estate and financial principles is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Superb writing and presentation skills to effectively summarize investment opportunities and risks.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assume a high level of responsibility and accountability.
- Ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and be a self-starter.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Prerequisites:
- Strong academic record
- 0-3 years of related work experience
- Work schedule requires four days in office per week
