Responsibilities
Serves as an HVAC/R Technician. This position develops the preventative maintenance schedule. Assists the Facilities Supervisor for Ringling Buildings Maintenance.
- Monitors operation of computerized heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (Chilled Water Plant). Maintains appropriate operational logs and analyzes trends in system. Makes appropriate system adjustments to maintain consistent system production and efficient energy consumption. Works together with Facilities Superintendent and HVAC/R Technician on determining daily assignments of HVAC operators for plant operations. Makes suggestions and provides guidance on plant operations.
- Develops and carries out preventative maintenance program for plant operation with guidance from the Facilities Superintendent. Troubleshoots and identifies chilled water pipe problems. Performs repairs on heating and/or air conditioning equipment. Uses motorized vehicle to transport tools and materials.
- Assists with emergency and or special Facilities' maintenance projects as needed.
- Remains on-call during designated periods outside normal working hours as needed to monitor and remotely make necessary adjustments for the chiller plant. While on-call, the incumbent may be required to return to the work site to respond to maintenance emergencies.
- Generates and responds to emails and work orders via online work order system. Updates work order system once per day regarding progress and/or upon completion of assignment.
- Performs a variety of work to maintain all buildings on campus such as pressure washing, painting, plumbing, filter changes, inspecting buildings/equipment to ensure good and safe operating conditions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years relevant experience.
- Or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.
- Technical or vocational degree in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC or other trade, may substitute for experience.

Ability to:
- Meet physical requirements as determined by position to include lifting/moving objects up to 50lbs., working in extreme weather conditions, and standing and walking for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, particularly computerized heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems (Chilled Water Plant).
- Proficient in maintaining operational logs, analyzing system trends, and making appropriate adjustments.

Considerations
Rate of Pay: $42,000 - $50,000, however the offered amount will be based on the education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate. Find out more about our comprehensive benefits and leave package under the "FSU Total Rewards" section.
Working Hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday - Friday with a half-hour meal period. Please note, the incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends based on the needs of The Ringling.

- This is a USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
- This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.
- If hired, candidate must obtain a lift certification within year of hire and be physically able and willing to operate an aerial lift, forklift, etc. All training would be provided by The Ringling.
