Cyber Security Analyst
The Cyber Security Analyst will work with the Director of Infrastructure and Cyber Security Administrator to oversee the network and computer security posture for Brixmor to ensure that business and organization objectives are not adversely impacted by threats and vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and developing data and system security policies and procedures, safeguarding all information and systems, and identifying new areas of risk, as well as preventing, monitoring, and responding to incidents and cyber-attacks through continuous development of Brixmor’s technical security capabilities. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security or related field, and experience in the information security field. A security certification is a plus.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and implement new cyber security best-practices and principles to network protocols, architectures, equipment, services, standards, and technology.
- Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems and data encryption programs.
- Work with IT team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
- Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
- Stay current on IT security trends, news, and threat landscape.
- Conduct internal and external security audits
- Serve as a security resource to users and provide security awareness training
- Coordinate security plans with outside vendors
- Evaluate and recommend new Security products
- Execute daily security processing routines and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security, or related field.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, Soc2, and MITRE
- Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
- Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
- Experience with the latest security tools.
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.
- Technical certification a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Professional experience developing and implementing new security systems, security programs, protocols, and maintenance of existing systems
- Excellent project management and planning skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- In-depth knowledge of data communications and network experience of operating systems and tools
- Knowledge of a variety of current and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of information security solutions, including data loss prevention, intrusion detection and prevention, network security monitoring and vulnerability management
- Understanding of current threats and trends in Information Security
