Summer Mental Health Intern
Camp Zeke, a sleepaway camp in PA, is seeking an enthusiastic and mission-aligned mental health intern to work from June 16, 2025 to August 10, 2025. We are looking for a post- college grad, currently enrolled in a masters of social work program (MSW). We would also consider any current psychology or mental health graduate student.
Job Description:
Our mental health intern will help guide and assist our camper care team in any problematic (potentially) mental health challenges or behaviors exhibited by our campers and staff. Our intern will also be available to help the health center with campers in need of intervention, working closely with the assistant and director of camper and staff care team. You will work with campers on strategies to stay in control of their emotions and being campers in a safe and fun environment.
You will join a cohort of graduate students in similar roles at other camps. They will participate in professional development pre-summer, weekly meetings during summer, and post-summer debrief -- all facilitated by licensed social workers. This is an amazing opportunity to grow skills on-the-job while being part of a wonderful camp community.
And .... you will actively participate and assist throughout the day in the camp’s programs, helping to inspire counselors and campers to live the mission of camp – active healthy living!
Qualifications: Our mental health intern should currently be enrolled in a masters of social work program (MSW). We would also consider any current psychology or mental health graduate student. If you are still an undergraduate student, we still encourage you to apply to camp, but in a different position. An ideal candidate would have camp experience, along with experience working with kids. Qualified candidates must be available for the full season and be willing to live on camp for that time period. They should have prior leadership and management experience with good problem-solving skills. They should be creative, patient, organized and caring.
