Precollege Residential Assistant (PRA) (UCLA Summer Sessions)

UCLA Summer Sessions is seeking responsible and enthusiastic UCLA undergrads to supervise high school juniors and seniors during Summer 2025.

Precollege Residential Assistants (PRAs) promote a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for students in the Summer College Immersion Program (SCIP). 

PRAs work a range of 15 up to 19 hours/week (maximum) in Session A6  from June 22 - August 2. Shifts can vary but will mostly be some weekday afternoons (3-5pm), nights (7-10pm or overnight) and weekends (varies).

All applications are for the general PRA job position, but if you are interested in taking on a lead role (PRA Lead or SCIP Lead), indicate that on the required Google Form . Please see the description for each position type:

Precollege Residential Assistant (PRA) ($22/hr) 

  • Assist with residential check-in (June 22) and check-out (August 2)
  • Perform nightly curfew checks and occasional wellness checks
  • Respond to conflicts and incident reports
  • Plan and lead evening Residential Activities (game nights, arts/crafts, picnics)

PRA Lead ($23/hr) 

  • All duties from the PRA position
  • Supervise the PRAs and schedule work shifts
  • Serve as main point of contact to resolve larger conflicts or emergencies

SCIP Lead ($23/hr) 

  • All duties from the Lead PRA position
  • Assist in academic progress checks, workshop attendance, and group projects

Zoom interviews in mid- to late-March. Interview requests will be emailed by April 1 latest; check your email and spam/junk folder regularly.

   ·     $22 - $23 per hour (depends on position) 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Experience supervising high school students is preferred but not required. 

Mandatory training begins June 2 with the majority on Zoom and 1-2 trainings in-person.

PRAs must live in UCLA Centennial Hall full-time from June 22 – August 2, 2025

We do not financially cover housing stay-throughs or parking permits; coordinate with UCLA Housing and Transportation directly.

We plan to hire 6 PRAs, 2 PRA Leads, and 2 SCIP Leads to supervise about 90 students.

This position is with UCLA Summer Sessions, not the Office of Residential Life (ORL).
